This Blog turns 1 today. Here are some 2010 statistics.

This blog was viewed 13,838 times in 2010. The last few months have averaged more than 2,000 visits per month - which is beyond any expectation I might have had.

I started this blog exactly 365 days ago and its kept me busy and given me an outlet to share the things I’d work on then file away.

The analyst part of me like stats, so I’m going to regurgitate some blog stats now:

This blog was viewed 13,838 times in 2010. The last few months have averaged more than 2,000 visits per month – which is beyond any expectation I might have had.

In 2010, there were 41 new posts. There were 245 pictures uploaded (majority my photographs or designs), taking up a total of 69mb.

The busiest day of the year was June 24th with 642 views. The most popular post that day was Why Good Web Designers are like Good Plastic Surgeons. It was featured on the Web Design Depot’s top tweets of the week.

The top referring sites in 2010 were twitter.com, webdesignerdepot.com, facebook.com, dutchphotozone.com, and palingates.blogspot.com.

Whats in store for 2011?

I finished an Adobe Illustrator design course at the end of last year so I’d like to start experimenting with vector illustrations and put them on this blog. I’d also like to try some more funky photography techniques like bokeh and night time motion trails. I have an idea to start photographing architectural buildings of the Sydney CBD in my lunchtimes and featuring them in series. With building history, outlining what architectural styles are used – probably shooting them in black and white.

In the works already…

I’ve just completed a website for a construction estimating software company so I’ll do a case study write up on that. I have two web development projects in progress, one for rental accommodation in Southern France (my 2nd international site) and the other for a marketing consulting firm in Sydney. They should be finished in the next month.
